the process

  • Inspiration

    Our interior design process begins with a consultation. We will look at your home in its entirety for style and design. Determine what works within your current lifestyle and what doesn’t work to ensure we have a clear understanding of how you live in your space.

    The assessment phase of your project is all about discovering what home means to you. We’ll identify anything that’s holding you back, start dreaming big about your new space and prioritize a roadmap to make it all happen.

  • Curation

    This is where all the work happens. Using all that we’ve discovered together and the roadmap we’ve outlined during our inspiration phase, we curate a space you never want to leave. It’s also when we select the breathtaking details for designing your space.

    From space planning, layouts, furniture plans, and 3D renderings to product selection. The curation phase is everything you need to visualize and sign off on the transformation.

  • Transformation

    From concept to completion, this is where all the magic happens and everything comes to life. It’s when construction, purchasing, installation and the big reveal of all those fabulous design goodies happens.

    During this phase, I am available to your architect, general contractor or sub-contractors as a coordinator to ensure things run smoothly.

    Then, we make a guided tour throughout all of the newly completed projects and take pictures revealing how the initial design concepts have come to life.

  • Our team is your unbiased expert resource— your advocate who is the liaison with your architect, contractor, and trades people. We communicate the information on the who, what, where, and how of your home with the appropriate parties.

  • We suggest hiring an interior designer 3-6 months in advance depending on your project scope and before or around the time of hiring an architect, builder or general contractor.

    Knowledgeable designers are able to enhance the project and ensure that you receive the end result that is in your dreams. We’re here to guide you and be your advocate through the process.

  • Yes, I can recommend contractors that I like and trust for your project. It helps the remodel process to work with someone who is familiar with my processes and I am familiar with their trades people. If you already have your own contractor, I am happy to work with them as well. This means communicating with contractors and trades from start to finish. Please note that I do not assume general contracting responsibilities. You must enter into a scope of work agreement with them directly, as well as pay them directly.

  • Understandably, we get asked this question a lot. Our fees depend on various factors, ranging from the level of service you require and the specific room you're looking to design. To give you an accurate estimate, it's important that we tour your space and have a detailed discussion about your vision for the project.

    We prefer to be as transparent as possible with clients, and offer flat fees for the design phase of the project. This means that you'll know the exact cost of the design plans before you commit to the project. That way, you are able to make an informed decision and have a clear understanding of your investment from the beginning.

    As a general rule, allocating a budget of 7-10% of the home's value for "midrange products" or 25% of the home's value for "upscale products".
